Gary Oldman and Zac Efron have each confirmed that the actor will star in the film slated to be released next year. Efron will be joining the already-confirmed Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill.
“I just went and met with them,” Efron said, according to MTV. “So I don’t know. It would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them, but… who knows?”
Disney, Lucas Films, and the director JJ Abrams have been famously secret about most of the aspects of the film. Perhaps casting Efron (High School Musical) is an attempt to draw in a younger crowd to see the movie.
No reports on who the actor will portray in the movie however.
