Weekend Events Update: Hamptons Edition

Happy Thursday, friends! It’s almost the end of another stressful work week, and it is time for a little weekend getaway. Grab your friends and hop on the Hampton Jitney because we’re going to the beach. There’s nothing more relaxing than catching a few rays on the sandy beaches of Long Island or playing a friendly game of croquet. It may be a cloudy day in the East Hamptons today, but we’re told it’s going to clear up in time for the weekend. Start packing, New Yorkers!

Here are a few things to do in the Hamptons this weekend:

Southampton:

Are you a fan of live music? Head on over to the Lobster Grille Inn tomorrow (Friday, July 10) and enjoy a few drinks! Their “Happy Our” (yes, I did spell that correctly), starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m. Sip on a refreshing drink while listening to local jazz, blues, and reggae artist, Scotte Hopson!

East Hampton:

WILLIAM BUCKLEY;GORE VIDAL

Get your tickets now because this Saturday (July 11), you’ll have the opportunity to catch film screening of “Best of Enemies.” The event starts at 7:30, but make sure to hang out after the screening because American novelist, Kurt Anderson, will be in attendance! Following the film, Anderson and Dick Cavett will hold a little Q&A. Some of us may know a little bit about Cavett’s lengthy and unique interviews with the late John Lennon and Judy Garland to name a few. And don’t forget to pull of those selfie sticks because Morgan Neville and Robert Gordon, directors of the film, will also be there. “Best of Enemies,” a documentary about the 1968 Presidential debates between Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley Jr., hits theaters July 31. Be sure to get your tickets to this once in a life time event now!

Bridgehampton:

224

The last day of the Bridgehampton Antiques & Design Fair is Sunday, July 12. With 25 of the best antique dealers throughout the United States and Europe, the  fascinating selection of jewelry, decor, and antiques dating back to the 17th century is a real treat. Tickets are $5!
