E L James tweeted, “And that’s a wrap…” yesterday indicating that the film has completed filming. Now, the only thing left to do is edit and fans will be able to see their favorite erotic novel on the big screen. The film is set to release on Valentine’s Day 2015. Boyfriends and husbands everywhere will be dragged into the theaters so gentlemen, brace yourselves.
The problem arises in what rating the film will get. One idea is to release an ‘R’ version and then an NC-17 version after a few weeks. “So everybody could go and enjoy the R version, and then if they really wanted to see it again and get a little bit more gritty with it then have that NC-17 version out there as well,” the producer explained. “What we’re kind of hearing from the fans is they want it dirty, they want it as close as possible [to the book]. We want to keep it elevated, but also give the fans what they want.”
