Noivern is totally getting on my team. The concept of Pokemon-Amie intrigues me because it does add an element of bonding with your Pokemon. Although, I still would prefer it of your Pokemon followed you around. Either way, I’m really excited to be moving diagonally and the new Pokemon that have been revealed look promising. Most importantly, the addition of the Fairy Type (I was so hoping it was going to be Light, but whatever. Close enough) is going to change the way battles are fought, especially competitively. Why? Because Fairy is Super Effective against Dragon which up to this point only had Ice and Dragon for a weakness. Having a Fairy Type pokemon using a Fairy Type attack against a Dragon pokemon means 4x the damage. Which hurts.
In any case, Pokemon X and Y definitely seem like they’re keeping up the trend of keeping the franchise fresh but still maintaining the core and heart of Pokemon. I’m really excited for October.
I’ll be interested to see that in light of having multiple games that connect from the WiiU to the 3DS like Monster Hunter and the new Smash Bros. if we’ll see a revival of Pokemon Stadium for the WiiU in the future?
