Well, never say that I don’t follow through. My On-Demand recommendation for this week is a three-part series since I saw three movies on the weekend and I recommend them all.
First, Interstellar:
Matt Mc. Aw crap how to you spell his name McOnnaghey? Mc On a Hay. McConnaghuey. Matty Mac. I know one of those is really close and as you may have read from my previous posts I don’t do a lot of research that you aren’t going to read or care about in the end anyway so why bother? There are a million film review sites, read those if you care about details or facts. You want my opinion, so here it is.
Buy it. If you’ve seen it you’ve probably already bought it so I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. Interstellar is one of those rare chances you get in film where at the end you’re talking to yourself about possibilities. As a species it is our duty to dream about the future and to ensure its existence. If we didn’t consider consequences life would be fun fast and loose and we’d all probably die before we hit 30.
Seeing as how that has passed, let’s focus on the film. Earth is dying, people have gotten to the point of rejecting science and being total idiots. People are living on corn and wheat. The granola-eating gluten-free hippies have probably long-since perished. All that is left are farmers and a top secret research facility at Norad for science-y stuff buried deep underground.
Matty Mac is an engineer and pilot, he is tasked with going into space to go through a wormhole and pass through to three potential places for colonization. Most of these places are impractical to facilitate the emigration of the entire human race so they’re just supposed to populate and start fresh on another planet.
That’s all you get, because they launch, and stuff gets crazy. Catwoman is there, somehow Alfred is her dad. It’s nuts. There are talking robots, giant tidal waves, 5th dimension spacey, it’s all a bit of wibbly wobbly timey wimey…stuff. yeah that one got away from me. a bit…
Go for it. get it on demand or from the link below.
