Mark Gatiss, co-creator of BBC’s Sherlock, was cast cast in season 4 of Game of Thrones as an unidentified role. That role was revealed as Braavosi banker Tycho Nestoris, a character who in George R.R. Martin’s original novels does not appear until much later in the series. The shift in his character’s arrival might coincide with Stannis Baratheon’s storyline, which also appears to have been pushed up. Whatever the reasoning, the show’s all the better for having Gatiss on board to add to its plethora of interesting characters. Gatiss’s portrayal of know-it-all Mycrof Holmes was one of my favorite parts of Sherlock‘s series 3.
Gatiss spoke with Metro UK for the first time about the show. Read the full article here.
