Jimmy Fallon Takes Over “Tonight Show”

Late Night TV is full of more drama than it needs. Over the past few weeks there have been comments made by late night hosts about their networks that didn’t go over very well, but that stuff doesn’t matter much.

What mattes is that Jimmy Fallon is getting a new job; Jay Leno’s job. Fallon has closed on a deal that will give him the hosting job on “The Tonight Show” taking over for Jay Leno once his contract runs out. Fallon could start on “The Tonight Show” as early as February 2014, just in time for the Winter Olympics.

As for who will take over Fallon’s show “The Late Show” there isn’t much word. Saturday Night Live’s Seth Meyers seems to be a frontrunner though.

Leno was supposed to leave the “Tonight Show” a few years ago and have Conan O’Brien and we know how well that worked out. Let’s see if Leno can stay away this time.
