Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart are slated to star in American Ultra, an action-comedy about “a stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend is upended when his past catches up with him, putting him in the crosshairs of a government operation bent on wiping him out.” Sounds like a strange premise for such a subdued duo, who previously starred together in 2009’s dramedy Adventureland.
Filming is set to begin in five weeks in New Orleans with Project X director Nima Nourizadeh and a script from Chronicle‘s Max Landis. The project is apparently pretty hot because Lionsgate bought the distribution rights to the film for a staggering $7 million, based on the screenplay and probably the star power of its leads.
