It’s the moment your inner 90s kid has been waiting for. Girl Meets World, the spinoff sequel to the 90s sitcom Boy Meets World, has been picked up as a regular show.
Girl Meets World is a show about Corey and T0panga’s 12 year-old daughter, Riley, her best friend Maya and their journey through middle school in New York City. Corey and Tapanga, played by returning actors Ben Savage and Danielle Fischel, keep a close eye on the girls with Corey being their new History teacher and Topanga owns an after-school hangout known for its pudding.
Girl Meets World will have the same kind of spirit that Boy Meets world had: comedic shorelines about the importance of friendship and family.
Fans of Boy Meets World will have a few treats through out the series, William Daniels who played the history teacher and mentor, Mr. Feeny in Boy Meets World is set to appear in the first episode. A few more familiar faces have been spotted on set including Will Friedle, who played Cory’s handsome yet somewhat dimwitted brother Eric. And Rider Strong, Cory’s best friend Shawn Hunter.
Girl Meets wold will air on Disney Channel in 2014.
