First Look: Zoe Saldana and Patrick J. Adams in ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Stills

If you’re not familiar with the 1968 horror classic Rosemary’s Baby, I’ll break it down for you: Rosemary and Guy are newlyweds who move into a new (creepy) apartment, Rosemary gets pregnant via mysterious machinations, and hi-jinks ensue. That’s the gist. NBC’s miniseries will surely follow the same story, although it’s unclear how much it might deviate. Previous miniseries based on popular works of fiction and film (Flowers in the Attic, Mildred Pierce) have been hit-or-miss on that account. Either way, it will be interesting to see how the miniseries handles the frights and subtle terror from Roman Polanski’s original film, which rested more heavily on atmosphere and a strong performance from star Mia Farrow than on effects or gore.

In these stills from the production, we see happy couple Rosemary (Saldana) and Guy (Adams) before their lives start to go to hell. Literally.
