We all have that movie we can quote from beginning to end. Let’s be real, who doesn’t know the whole poem from “10 Things I Hate About You?” Or the notorious quote, “I want you, I need you, oh baby, oh baby.” Adapted from Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, this late 90’s movie is pure gold. But have you ever wondered what happened to the popular kids of Padua High School?
Julia Stiles (Kat Stratford)
We’ve seen Stiles in a few films since the late 90’s, like “Save the Last Dance” and “Silver Linings Playbook.” She has also appeared on hit television series like “Dexter” and “The Mindy Project.” But where is she now? Rumor has it, Julia Stiles likes to stroll around New York City’s East Village while keeping a low profile. But just take a look at her Twitter account. Home girl doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about a certain 2016 Presidential candidate. Dare I say Julia Stiles and Kat Stratford have a similar headstrong personality?
Larisa Oleynik (Bianca Stratford)
Who? Oh right, that gal with secret powers (“The Secret World of Alex Mack” anyone?). If you’re a fan of ABC Family’s hit series “Pretty Little Liars” you may recognize Oleynik with a much shorter hair cut. Oleynik plays Maggie who is Ezra’s baby mama, well kind of. Unfortunately, Maggie was last seen in Rosewood during season 4 (the show is currently on season 6). As for now, Larisa Oleynik has a restraining order against a stalker that remains in effect until January 2016. Rock on, girl.
Andrew Keegan (Joey Donner)
Joey “Eat Me” Donner is still a bad, bad boy. Since his days as a teenage heartthrob, Keegan founded a “new age” religion, Full Circle. But wait, it gets better. Have you ever heard of Kombucha? Well, it’s a fermented tea with a hint of alcohol. During a fundraiser in May, Keegan and his “followers” were busted by the California Department of ABC. Who knew it was illegal to sell alcohol without a license!? Namaste, Andrew.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Cameron James)
This beautiful, and yes, established actor has continued to shine since his adorable performance in “10 Things I Hate About You.” Levitt not only directed and starred in the film, “Don Jon,” but also wrote the script. He also founded hitRECord, an online collaborative production company that has since expanded into a television series. But here’s the best part, YOU, yes, YOU can work with Levitt! Check out hitRECord for more information!
Heath Ledger (Patrick Verona)
Arguably the star of “10 Things I Hate About You,” the late Heath Ledger was one hell of an actor. His controversial role in “Brokeback Mountain” was numbingly breathtaking. But it was his Golden Globe and Oscar winning role as the Joker in “The Dark Knight” that amazed us all. The Batman star took acting to another level with a haunting, mind-blowingly dark and mesmerizing performance. We miss you, Heath.
