What the Chinese Panda Solar Farm actually looks like

We’ve all seen the posts that look like China was building a solar farm straight from Kung Fu Panda. However, while still adorable, and not exactly the same, they actually built TWO pandas! Hashtag has obtained an image from the Pleiades Satellite of the installation.

Dark Tower Movie Review

I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye. I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I shoot with my mind. I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my heart. WOW! What a fun movie. The Dark Tower, from Sony, is an adaptation of a series of 8 Stephen King novels published between 1998 and 2004. It’s REALLY dark and angsty. I thoroughly enjoyed having an adaptation that was dark and brooding. A troubled youth, learns he has the ability to dream into another world, and seeks it out. Thought crazy by his peers and parents he ventures into this other universe to find the Gunslinger (Idris Elba) and save The Da...

Valerian – Movie Review

Very few movies have the ability to make me audibly say “WOW” in the theater. I did that four times in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. It is easily one of the most visually stunning movies I’ve ever seen and evokes the same imagination and wonder as Avatar and Tomorrowland. That’s right, I said it. Luc Besson (heavy on the O, apparently, I always pronounced it BEHson, it’s BehSOHN) is a mad genius. I create worlds for a living and he made me look like a 4-year-old playing “make-believe” in the front yard. To set the tone at the very beginning of the movie, we’re thrust into space. From the moon landing to the establishment of the first space station, we see humankind evolving. 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. Then the inevitable happens,...

The new Doctor Who has been chosen!

It’s a beautiful day in the world, BBC and the showrunners at Doctor Who have chosen a successor to Peter Capaldi, and it’s Jodie Whittaker! Some supposed fans are up in arms, because they’re closed-minded nobs. Clever writers even put up signs in the penultimate episode of this season, “World Enough and Time”, when the Doctor is talking to Bill about Missy. DOCTOR: She was my first friend, always so brilliant, from the first day at the Academy. So fast, so funny. She was my man crush. BILL: I’m sorry? DOCTOR: Yeah, I think she was a man back then. I’m fairly sure that I was, too. It was a long time ago, though. BILL: So, the Time Lords, bit flexible on the whole man-woman thing, then, yeah? DOCTOR: We’re the most civilized civilization in th...

Spider-Man: Homecoming – Movie Review

Being a teenage boy is hard work. You have to balance school, sports, band, girls, changes in your body, and being Spider-Man. Wait what? Peter Parker, the story we’ve seen a thousand times with Toby, Andrew and now Tom Holland. However, I must say that with the full support of Marvel and the reuniting of Spidey into the MCU, this one had a totally different feel. A new high-tech spidey suit from Tony Stark, high school woes, a goofy mascot best friend, a love interest that goes sideways with a crazy twist, TWICE. Spider-Man is coming off the heels of his Avenger Team-Up from Civil War, (we see clips of that in the film, pretty cool actually to see it from the kid’s point of view), and he wants nothing more than to drop out of school and be an Avenger, unfortunately there is a ...
