Since the Winchester boys started their mission to close the gates of hell for good, their angelic friend Castiel hasn’t been seen much.
That will all change with the show’s ninth season (receiving an early renewal from the CW). Everyone’s favorite angel will return as a series regular starting in Supernatural season 9. While we don’t know what troubles Sam and Dean will face, its good to know that Castiel will be by their side again.
Additionally, Misha Collins (Castiel himself) is slated to direct and episode of the ninth season.
Collins first appeared on Supernatural during season 4, was a regular for season 5, and has made numerous guest appearances since the 6th season.
