Kids. They say the darndest things. But some, if not all, read. Required or otherwise, kids read books.
In a survey of 60,000 schools, the results are in for May 2015, we’ve broken it down for you by school age (Elementary, Middle, High).
ELEMENTARY:
As we see, Jeff Kinney should be cashing some sweet checks. We’ll check back in on this monthly to see how it goes.
MIDDLE:
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is still strong, but the movie adaptation books are beginning to filter in. This middle school age group is said to be the driving force behind 75% of all commercial retail and entertainment purchases. Obviously Divergent and Hunger Games are tops.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Now, take away the required reading. You’re left with Divergent, Maze Runner and The Fault in Our Stars, oh and I think there’s a new movie called Paper Towns.
Kinda crazy, huh?
I’m not sure what we take away from this. 60 thousand schools, millions of kids. We actually have a compiled list of the top 50, maybe we can feature more next month.
