A spin-off of The Walking Dead was announced last year but has only just been outfitted with a show-runner. Dave Erickson, who has written for Sons of Anarchy and Low Winter Sun (remember, that show that did terrible?), has been brought on as co-writer and executive producer of the new AMC show. Walking Dead writer Robert Kirkman and producer Gale Anne Hurd will also work on the new project.
The show isn’t technically a spin-off, as Kirkman has said, because none of the characters from The Walking Dead will be in it. The series will instead follow a whole new group of people surviving in the zombie-infested America. So, instead of one show about zombies on television, there will be two. Oh, happy day.
At least we can look forward to the actual spin-off from AMC, Better Call Saul.
