While Chris Nolan produced the new Man of Steel film (due to be released June 14th), there are now talks that WB has approached him to be involved with the Justice League film. There is even speculation that Bale will be approached to revisit his role as Batman. It is confirmed that Nolan has taken over the comic book scene in WB, but everything about a Justice League film and possibly casting is just speculation at this point.
There are also reports that Zack Snyder (director of Man of Steel) and David Goyer (screenwriter for TDK trilogy) will be involved.
I personally hope that Bale is not Batman just because his more realistic Batman will not fit in the more heavily superhuman element that is ever present in the Justice League. I mean, there’s Superman, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Aquaman. There is no other normal human in the League. You could argue that Hal or Barry Allen, but they still technically have superpowers.
I think there needs to be a new Batman who is experienced in dealing with Metas and superpowers.
Those are just my thoughts, what do you think?
If they make this movie, I like the idea thus far, but if they don’t get people to sign a multi movie contract and they start replacing actors for different movies they’ll lose my support.
I think they HAVE to sign everyone to the multi-project deals, it’s the only way to solidify continuity. Look how much crap they gave Ironman for switching out Terrance Howard “Rhodes” with Don Cheadle “Rhodey”. I think it’s going to be fine, and I think Christian Bale as Batman will be fine so long as he’s not the star. I think this one will focus on a certain “Quick” individual and perhaps our favourite Martian?
