As many of you may know, Russell Crowe’s new film ‘Noah’ was released this weekend, and well- the numbers were impressive to say the least. $35 million is how much the movie has grossed in it’s first weekend in the box office. That would be Crowe’s highest grossing opening weekend- in front of even ‘Gladiator’ believe it or not!
The success of the movie may be more than just because of its biblical story which attracted many Christians to the big screen this weekend. Paramount’s head of distribution Don Harris says the movie is actually just an all-around great movie. He said, “This movie was always meant to be provocative, and it was, but this really was a spectacular piece of filmmaking and that’s what really made it work.”
The film also stars Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly. So if you had reservations about watching this religious movie, you may want to reconsider if you just enjoy simply good movies. And who knows- maybe you’ll walk out of the theater with a new outlook on life.
