The second trailer for the Wachowski Siblings’ Jupiter Ascending once again sees Channing Tatum in glam makeup rescuing Mila Kunis from… who the hell knows what. The trailer is a hodge-podge of material we’ve all seen before, from Transformers to Riddick to Star Trek to The Fifth Element. Its trajectory seems to mimic that of Snow White and the Huntsman, with its trailers giving away the movie’s entire plot and its imagery so derivative that even its effects seem bland. I’m sure the summer sci-fi will bring in a boatload of cash but I predict some abysmal ratings.
