So Johnny Depp and Jerry Bruckheimer are both looking for the new director for Pirates of the Caribbean 5, because we all know that they haven’t just taken the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and ran it into the ground already. I’m sure every fan is excited about this news. To bad they haven’t found a director to actually say yes to this idea.
Although, I have a suggestion! My thought is why not take what Johnny Depp normally does and exploit it exactly like how they are with the pirates’ movie! Let’s just have Tim Burton direct the movie and just to make it consistent, let’s put Tim Burton’s wife, Helena Bonham Carter in it as well. Now before you start cussing me out let me explain…
Would letting Tim Burton direct the movie make it any worse than letting someone completely different do it? The original director of the first three did a wonderful job with the first one, but the rest had a long plot that was quite forgettable. Then you have the Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides and no one cared. The plot was terrible and just filled with pointless action.
Now me saying that having Tim Burton and his wife take control of the pirates’ franchise doesn’t seem so far from where it ended up after the last movie. At least the movie would be different than the others. I’m sure it will be dark and depressing with a terrible plot. But it’s not uncommon for Hollywood to run series into the ground. On that note good luck to Indiana Jones 5 and Star Wars Episode VII!
