The first new game from Bungie, the creators of the Halo Universe bring you Destiny (360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One). Destiny is a shooter with RPG elements, similar to Borderlands.
There are three classes: Hunter, Titan and Warlock. The Hunter is an expert marksman with a proficiency in close range combat. The Titan acts as the tank of the group, equipped with a wide arsenal of weapons and armor. The Warlock is the mage; casting devastating magic to destroy your enemies. As you level up, your character will unlock their own unique abilities that will continue to make them stronger as you progress through the story. Each class will be fully upgradeable with loot you find on the battlefield.
Players will be able to find new armor and weapons. The armor fills four different slots. Players can equip: helmets, gauntlets, chest armor and leg armor. A fifth armor slot is available as a unique slot for each class. The weapons in the game will grow with your character. You will gain experience points for that weapon and using them will unlock new abilities.
The game will feature three player co-op and adopt a shared world game play. That means special missions will be available for you and your friends to join as you play through the story. There is a wide range of these missions including death matches to even raids, which are difficult areas where experienced players work together to reach the end. The world will span four different planets with their own biomes, so you can expect a lot of variety in these types of matches.
With deep customization and co-op action, aching to the Borderlands games there is a lot of faith placed on the success of Destiny. Can the company that brought us the billion dollar Halo franchise possibly make a game just as successful? I guess we will see tomorrow. One thing that is certain is that if any company can make a successor to the Halo series it’s going to be Bungie.
