The film (featuring Emma Watson) sends a good message and has good intentions, but, ultimately, falls flat. The film is based on a true story and does a good job of sticking to the facts. However, because of this, there is no character development, nothing for anyone to relate to in terms of the characters, and the film is very repetitive.

By repetitive I mean the kids go party, then rob a house, go party, rob a house, go party, rob a house, and it continues like this until they get caught. Other than that, nothing really happens. The characters aren’t likeable because they have no decent qualities and they only address the “why” question (why were the kids robbing from these celebrities) once. They don’t give the big question enough attention for it to have an impact on the audience. Finally, when the kids get arrested in the end, one of the teenagers, Nicki (Emma Watson) gets interviewed twice. During these interviews, the audience can see that she hasn’t really changed. She doesn’t show any sign of regretting what she has done. While her words say differently, it is clear that she’s lying and trying to make herself look good. Only one, Marc (Israel Broussard), shows any regret for doing what his friends and he did and he wasn’t as into it as the others were from the beginning.
