300:Rise of an Empire full trailer was just released yesterday. And it looks like it’s going down the same route as it’s 300 testosterone fueled predecessor. With an ancient nation like Sparta, there’s plenty of opportunity to write about wars and epic battles against the spartan army.
It’s set years after the death of King Leonidas, it focuses on how Xerxes the 1st became the scantily clad mighty emperor and the Spartans reaction the the naval battle brought on by the second Persian Invasion. Lena Heady is returning as Queen Gorgo (a much more appealing ruler than the Queen she is currently playing) and the Spartans army in preparation for the impending brutal and ideally gore filled battles.
Since this movie isn’t expected to premier to March fo 2014, we’ll have plenty of time to catch up on the most likely historical inaccuracies. But when you have hundreds of Golds Gym poster children killing and fighting in the sepia toned movie for over 100 minutes, most people probably won’t mind.
