$45.1 million is how much the sequel to 2007’s ‘300’ earned this opening weekend. ‘300:Rise of an Empire’ isn’t doing as well as the original did, but no one expected that. It also earned an additional $87.8 million internationally.
Clearly the box-office victor this weekend, the film picks up where the last one left off. It follows Greek general Themistokles as he leads the charge against invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
