New ‘Penny Dreadful’ Teaser is F*ckin’ Creepy

If you haven’t seen the promotional material for Showtime’s new series Penny Dreadful, you should because it’s creepy as hell. The newest teaser is no exception, opening with a Bram stoker quote and ending with pages of an immense volume being stitched through what looks like bleeding red flesh. The show is akin to a horror anthology with characters like Dorian Gray, Dr. Frankenstein, and Dracula. Probably meant to compete with other horror-type shows like American Horror Story and The Walking Dead, Penny Dreadful has the benefit of existing on a network with more latitude. The cast and crew is exceptional. The series is backed by Skyfall director Sam Mendes, and the first two episodes are directed by The Orphanage‘s Juan Antonio Bayona. The cast includes Eva Green,...

The ‘Peanuts’ Gang is Moving to the Silver Screen

“For the first time ever, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang we know and love from Charles Schulz’s timeless “Peanuts” comic strip will be making their big-screen debut; like they’ve never been seen before in a CG-Animated Feature film in 3D.” If you were at all skeptical about a big screen adaptation of the beloved Peanuts and their adventures, just watch the first teaser and I think you’ll change your mind. The interaction between Snoopy and Charlie is adorable, and the animation works for the environment, reminiscent of the old animated specials that still come on TV to this day. The animation style reminded me of the techniques used in Wreck-it Ralph and The Lego Movie, to make the environments look like their source material. Not t...

‘The Maze Runner’ Teaser + Poster

The Maze Runner is another YA novel series hoping to be stretched into a film franchise that will inevitably spawn a final installment to span three or four movies instead of one (because that’s so gosh darn trendy right now). The series follows Thomas (played by Teen Wolf‘s Dylan O’Brien) after he wakes up with no memory in an unfamiliar dystopian environment and is forced to fight other teenagers for… reasons. The teaser plugs O’Brien’s show Teen Wolf on MTV, which will air the full trailer tonight after a new episode. Way to meta-advertise, guys. If you’re anything like me, you’ll avoid Teen Wolf and find the trailer online tomorrow. For now, enjoy this highly informative poster!

‘Orphan Black’ Sneak peek

Season 1 of BBC America’s Orphan Black blew up seemingly overnight thanks in large part to the performance of Tatiana Maslany who plays all of the clones on the show, a number that is sure to keep climbing with every season. Entertainment Weekly Instagramed an exclusive short look at the new season, a confrontation between Sarah and Rachel that ends with a gun pointed at the latter’s head. Amp up the clone-on-clone action, let’s see a fist fight break out. According to Entertainment Weekly, this will be the first of eight daily clips to be released on Orphan Black‘s official Instagram. Season 2 premieres April 19th.

‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 2 Release Date

Praise the television gods, Orange Is The New Black‘s much-awaited season 2 finally has a release date, June 6th. The entire second season will be available to stream on Netflix so mark your calendars, start stockpiling popcorn, and prepare to avoid all human interaction while you watch all episodes in one sitting. Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger that left viewers shouting at their computer screens. Hopefully, this next season opens with a bang and keeps the fire going all the way. After the disappointment of House of Cards‘s second season, I’m really hoping for a winner here. Watch the first teaser below. Nice.
